 Children are always welcome and encouraged to come to church on Sunday. 
We have a Nursery Room available upstairs by the balcony, 
Quiet Play Centre in the front right-hand side of the sanctuary
and activity packages are available from the ushers. 

Intergenerational Sunday
The first Sunday of each month is Communion Sunday
and is an Intergenerational Sunday, 
so the children do not go to Sunday School. 
Activity packages are available from the ushers.

NUC Library

Hot off the Press!
Our pictorial directories have arrived and will be distributed downstairs after worship. The cost of the directories was about $6.00 per copy to print. There is no charge to you, however, if you would like to make a donation to help cover these costs, it would be appreciated.  Please see Donna Strongman for your copy.

56 Unit is Having a Wrap Party
The UCW’s 56 Unit is once again having a Wrap Party to wrap up those very popular mystery gifts for the Christmas Bazaar. We welcome anyone who wants to help us out on Thursday, November 7th at 9:00 am to about 2:00 pm in the Church Hall to help ‘wrap things up’.  A pizza lunch will be provided for everyone who comes help with wrapping the mystery gifts.

—arisen from all the meetings we’ve had and the data generated—
is acceptable, we’ll adopt it and move to the next stages of our
process in the coming months.
There will be a chance for feedback in smaller table settings and in the larger group. 

Keep the Date
The annual UCW Christmas Bazaar will be on Saturday, November 18th. We will be offering just the afternoon High Tea this year, from 1 until 3 pm. Delicious tea sandwiches and squares will be served, all for just $5. and check out the bake shop, crafts table, jewelry table, fair trade table and “new to you” table. The 56 Unit will be selling many wonderful wrapped mystery gifts for minimal prices. one, come all and bring a friend or two!

Camp Koolaree Society AGM
Camp Koolaree will be holding their Annual General Meeting at Castlegar United Church, 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 25th.  For more information, talk to Robin or email her

Share Your Talents
On Sunday, November 26th Caritas is hosting a Soup and Salad lunch.  For entertainment, we would like to have a talent show “Congregation’s Got Talent”.  If you are interested in singing a song, playing an instrument, reciting a poem, etc. please let Barbara know (250-354-4257). Let’s have some fun!

Tickets are $10 each (6 years old & under are free) Sold in the Church Office or after worship on Sundays or at The Music Store (Eddy Music) on Baker St.

2018 Canadian Church Calendar
The calendar features colourful photos of United Churches from across the country and notes special days and church seasons. Keep track of liturgical seasons and colours, significant United Church days, and lectionary dates. If you wish to order a 2018 church calendar, please speak with Lynne Busby 250-352-3961.

Recorder Ensemble
Spirit Winds Recorder Ensemble will start rehearsals soon, as well as the Beginner Recorder Class.If you are interested in joining either group, please talk to Robin Murray,, 250-352-2822.

We Know That You Are Out there
The Pastoral Care Team is looking for people to help support members of our congregation. Do you like to play games? Visit? Could you help drive others to church or church events? Just a little bit of help can make a significant difference in the lives of others. Are you already doing this? We’d like to hear about it. Chair Yoga with Instructor, Clement
All are welcome to join in gentle chair yoga classes Tuesdays at 8:30 am in the Church Hall;
And Thursdays at 8:20 am at the Seniors Centre.

Kootenay Refugee Coalition 
If you are interested in donating to help the Kootenay Refugee Coalition support refugees coming to our area and to assist in supporting Selem and Helen from Eritrea, you may do so through your offering envelopes, noting Refugee Coalition in the memo line.  One time or monthly donations are greatly appreciated. Scent Free Church
Please remember to refrain from wearing perfumes, colognes, aftershaves and all other scented products to church.  We have some members with allergies to these products.

Caring Casseroles
Do you know someone (or yourself) who would be helped by having a pre-made meal?  There are a variety (vegetarian, gluten-free, and meat) of casseroles in the freezer in our kitchen.  Please let Donna Strongman know and it could be delivered, or take it yourself.

Prayer Shawl Group
Over 165 hand knitted or crocheted prayer shawls have been lovingly created by members of the Prayer Shawl Group.  The shawls have been received by those appreciating a ‘warm hug filled with God’s love’.  Anyone wishing to knit or crochet prayer shawls (beginners welcome!) are invited to join us in the Trinity Lounge the first Monday of each month at 1:30 pm.  For more info please speak to Anne Corbett
