We are made up of many volunteers who give countless hours of their free time, but, as a nonprofit charitable organization, we also depend on financial generosity to carry out God’s mission of love and compassion in our community and around the world.

Offerings to the ministry of Nelson United Church
You are able to financially support the work and ministry of NUC through these options:

Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR) is one option for weekly giving to NUC. Through PAR, automatic payments are made from either your bank account or major credit card to support the ministry of NUC. There is no additional charge to you.

Paper/envelope givings for those who prefer to write cheques or contribute cash. This can be placed in the collection plate on Sundays, dropped off at the church or mailed to us. Those who attend and give regularly have personal registered giving envelopes to calculate their tax-receiptable annual offerings.

Time and Talent is a generous, non-financial offering that is always appreciated. We often need volunteers to fulfil the ministry of the congregation in helpful ways, whether it is offering to care for the church property, helping with our fundraising activities, or even attending church community activities! Please contact us if you might be able to contribute in this way.
Raise the Roof!
The Raise the Roof campaign is a crucial effort to ensure that our historic building remains a vibrant hub for the Nelson community.
Our church hosts multiple choir practices, support group meetings, Nelson Community Food Centre, workshops and lectures, and, of course, our weekly worship services.
Hundreds of people pass through our doors each week, and we are committed to maintaining the building so it can continue to serve Nelson for generations to come.
Major work is required, including an electrical system upgrade and a roof replacement, which is estimated to cost just under $100,000.
Our project priority is replacing the roof.
We cannot achieve this without your help. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in keeping this vital community space thriving.
