Sunday School is in summer recess. We have a Nursery Room available upstairs by the balcony, a Quiet Play Centre at the front right-hand side of the sanctuary and activity packages for the children are available from the ushers.

Intergenerational Sunday The first Sunday of each month is Communion Sunday and is an Intergenerational Sunday, so the children do not go to Sunday School. Activity packages are available from the ushers.

We Are An Affirming Ministry As an Affirming Ministry, we celebrate the diversity of God’s creation. We celebrate the richness of our community when we have diversity in age, gender identity, racial/cultural backgrounds, sexual orientation, ability, and family configurations. We seek to create a safe space with an open invitation to bring every aspect of your whole self into your participation in this ministry

Nyanyadzi Methodist Church and Zimbabwe Support Appeal

As many of you know, twinning with Nyanyadzi Methodist Church occurred in the early ’90s when Nelson was engaged with Mutare in Zimbabwe. Irene McIlwaine and Peggy Corbett were our main contacts for many years and Rachel Maposa and her mother Eleanor were our main contacts in Zimbabwe. We are endeavouring to establish a new contact as Eleanor died some years ago and Rachel moved. However, this note is to ask for your support for Nyanyadzi Methodist Church, and  Zimbabwe in general. Millions of people in Zimbabwe are starving and facing severe drought. So, please make a donation to Nelson United Church marking the donation for Zimbabwe / Nyanyadzi Methodist Church relief. Thank you.

Youth and Family Ministry Evaluation
The Board is currently undertaking an evaluation of our Youth and Family Ministry. The Rev. Greg Powell of Castlegar United Church has agreed to coordinate this for us. It was announced that we were going to undertake the review last week, but the Board decided to take a longer evaluation period. So, with Linda Mae’s assistance, Greg’s guidance, and David’s support, we will set some things up for mid-September and early October. More announcements will be forthcoming. Thank you.
