Sunday School is in session and we have a Nursery Room available upstairs by the balcony; a Quiet Play Centre at the front right-hand side of the sanctuary and activity packages for the children are available from the ushers.

Intergenerational Sunday The first Sunday of each month is Communion Sunday and is an Intergenerational Sunday, so the children do not go to Sunday School. Activity packages are available from the ushers. It had been our tradition for the children to leave their Sunday School classes to join us to receive the bread and juice. By placing Communion at the beginning of worship the children are present for the full communion liturgy, including the breaking and pouring. Following the anthem, story and hymn they will, as usual, go to their classes for discussion and learning.

We Are An Affirming Ministry As an Affirming Ministry, we celebrate the diversity of God’s creation. We celebrate the richness of our community when we have diversity in age, gender identity, racial/cultural backgrounds, sexual orientation, ability, and family configurations. We seek to create a safe space with an open invitation to bring every aspect of your whole self into your participation in this ministry.

Scent Free Church
Please remember to refrain from wearing perfumes, colognes, aftershaves and all other scented products to church. There are members with allergies to these products which, for some, can result in migraines, nausea, or hives.

Microphones for Announcements
Just a reminder that when making announcements during the worship service, we ask that you use a microphone. This will ensure that everyone will be able to hear your announcement.

Pastoral Care Reminder
This is a reminder to please phone David or Lois in the office as soon as possible when you hear of anyone connected with the church who is sick, in hospital, or has other needs. Also, if you would like David and the Pastoral Care Team to be aware of the health issues you are enduring, please do not hesitate to contact David or Lois in the office. David must be informed so he and the Pastoral Care Team can provide pastoral care.

Postlude Quiet
In respect for those who enjoy prayerful and meditative thoughts at the end of our worship gathering, please listen quietly during the Postlude. Thank you.

Know Your UCW
The Nelson United branch of the United Church Women boasts 72 members in 3 separate groups.  These groups meet and operate mainly independently, but work together as a group on some events.  Jubilee Group is led by Grace Smith, 56 Unit by Bess Rathbone and Caritas by Lynne Busby.  Leah Gray and Donna Strongman co-ordinate the entire UCW.  All three groups meet regularly, and they eagerly welcome new members at any time.  If you are interested in joining one of the groups, please have a discussion with one of the leaders.

Prayer Shawl Group
Over 240 hand knitted or crocheted prayer shawls have been lovingly created by members of the Prayer Shawl Group. The shawls have been received by those appreciating a ‘warm hug filled with God’s love’. Anyone wishing to knit or crochet prayer shawls (beginners welcome!) are invited to join us in the Trinity Lounge on the first Monday of each month at 1:30 pm.
