The NUC Vision Statement

At Nelson United Church, we affirm that we are created as whole beings. We will gather to encounter the mystery of the Spirit and celebrate God’s gift of life.

As people of faith, we seek life-giving experiences of love that transform our way of being in the world. We are not alone; we live in God’s world and are part of a rich web of relationships with our wider community.

We have the energy, resources, and physical space to partner with others and further a world of justice, hope, just relations, beauty, love, and wonder.

For thousands of years, First Nations people have walked on this land; their relationship with the land is at the centre of their lives and spirituality. We acknowledge that the land on which Nelson United Church gathers is the traditional territories of the Sinixt and the Ktunaxa peoples and is home to many diverse indigenous persons, including the Métis. We acknowledge the injustices that indigenous people have faced and continue to face today. We commit to reconciliation, together, as children of the creator.
