Good Morning, let us prepare to pray as we listen to today’s Prayers of the People. So, when you hear the words, God of Diversity, please respond with “Hear our Prayers”.

Healing God, you teach us to acknowledge that all humankind is equal and that diversity is a miracle to be celebrated. Today we thank you oh God, for giving us the gifts of your understanding and the behaviours that enable us to celebrate diversity through inclusion, tolerance, justice, equity and equality which are all elements of the love and compassion you instil in us in these precious moments you have given for us to share throughout the world. It is only by knowing the love of God revealed in Jesus Christ that we can understand what love is. But it is only by loving that we learn to know God.

MercifulGod, we join with others as we pray for Our Bienestar partners involved in the Nelson United Church outreach project in Guatemala, our brothers & sisters at Nyanyadzi Methodist Church in Zimbabwe, Peacemakers and Peacekeepers,Health care workers, Teachers, Engineers and the many who serve throughout the world through many organizations,LGBTQ+ people who are persecuted in many countries.

In our Pacific Mountain Regional Prayer Cycle we pray for the General Council Office, Moderator, General Secretary & Executive  And in our World Council of Churches Ecumenical Prayer Cycle, we pray for the peoples of Cape Verde, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and Senegal. God of Diversity…    “Hear our Prayers.”

As we come before you our Father and our Friend, we pray today for our own hearts and for those we love who are sad, or facing bad news, grieving, or unwell. We especially voice our heartfelt concerns for all those named in our Prayer List. In the silence now we think of the prayers for those closest to us, who we mention now or hold silently in our hearts…    …God of Diversity…    “Hear our Prayers.”

Creator God, we are your people. We look to the future with optimism and with faith in you,
as we pursue our call to provide justice and fullness of life for all peoples. We pray that every person may develop their potential and meet you in themselves and in one another. May we enjoy a totally welcoming community, with you as our centre, joined hand in hand with our sisters and brothers. We ask this in Jesus’ name. God of Diversity…    “Hear our Prayers.

Amen!
