Prayers of the People: March 15

On this, the 3rd Sunday in Lent, we reflect on the all-inclusive power of God’s reach that enables and empowers us to adapt to the great big challenges we face here at home and throughout the world.  So, when you hear the words, Great Big God please respond with “Hear our Prayers”.

Loving God, we join with others as we pray for Our Bienestar partners involved in the Nelson United Church outreach project in Guatemala, our brothers & sisters at Nyanyadzi  Methodist Church in Zimbabwe, Peacemakers and Peacekeepers, Health care workers, Teachers, Engineers and the many who serve throughout the world through many organizations.
We celebrate and honour the full inclusion of LGBTQ2SIA+ people in faith communities and beyond, while we continue to recognize LGBTQ2SIA+ people who are persecuted in many countries. We pray for the future of our environment; protecting and respecting this gift of creation.

In our Pacific Mountain Regional Prayer Cycle we pray for Cordova Bay UC, and, St. Andrew’s United Churches at Enderby, Golden, Kaslo and Mission. And in our World Council of Churches Ecumenical Prayer Cycle, we pray for the peoples of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Great Big God…    “Hear our Prayers.”

Today, we especially voice our heartfelt concerns those we love who are sad, or facing bad news, grieving, or unwell.  In Our Prayers we name all those on our Prayer List…        Let us take a moment to name those who are also in need of our prayers this morning by naming them aloud or silently at this time…    …Great Big God…    “Hear our Prayers.”

Great Big God, we give thanks for your love and healing power that surrounds us in so many different ways to reflect the unique nature and need of each and every one of us, and of all your precious creations.

Great Big God…    “Hear our Prayers.”

Amen!
