Let us clear our minds and open our hearts as we submit our prayers to God for those we care for and for God’s Blessing to be bestowed upon them. When you hear, “Lord in your mercy” please respond with, “Hear our prayers.”

Acknowledgement and praise for God
Daily our minds are opened to the magnificence of your creation. With each new discovery, we are humbled by our lack of understanding and in awe of the expanse of your creation. From the far reaches of our known universe to the minute particles that form all things we feel your greatness and our insignificance. Yet through Jesus, we learn of your love for us and our duty to others. In the face of our duty, we mourn our weakness of spirit, hunger for righteousness, regret our disobedience, wish we were more merciful and more effective in peacekeeping and bolder in openly professing the teachings of Jesus. Yet in all our failings you have blessed us with living in a more peaceful, just and loving society than we observe in other parts of our world. We are truly blessed through your mercy. Lord in your mercy…   “Hear our prayers.”

Prayers for Others
In this our prayers for others, we pray for our leaders at all levels to bring about a more peaceful and just society. In our Pacific Mountain Regional Council Prayer cycle, we seek your guidance and grace to be with the leaders of Saint Mary’s Anglican/United Pastoral Charge. In our World Council of Churches, we pray for peace and justice for Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico. We pray for our Bienestar partners involved in our outreach project in Guatemala, our brothers and sisters at the Nyanyadzi Methodist Church in Zimbabwe, for the Peacemakers and peacekeepers, healthcare workers, teachers, engineers, and the many who serve throughout the world in countless organizations.  We pray for strong leadership against the Covid-19 pandemic. We ask for your guidance in our safeguarding of others, in particular, the most vulnerable in this most serious illness whether in body, mind or spirit. We pray for the safety of the LGBTQ2SIA+ people who are persecuted in many countries.  Lord in your mercy…   “Hear our prayers.”

Prayers for our Congregation
We seek your blessing for all those who are closely linked with us and grant that we may serve them in Christ’s name with love and kindness. We ask for comfort and healing for those named in our Prayer List; give them courage and hope in their troubles, and return joy to their lives. In this quiet moment let us bring to mind all those known to us but not mentioned here. We pray Lord you let them hear your voice, let them feel your grace and give them the courage they require…   …May Grace be given. Lord in your mercy…   “Hear our prayers.”

God our God we thank you for all the blessings you have bestowed upon us. Keep us ever mindful of the needs of others and us to their service. In our love for you Lord and for our saviour in Jesus the people say.
